"We are born in one day. We die in one day. And we can fall in love in just one day."
I really loved Just One Day. I was so intrigued when I read what this book was about. I think everyone dreams of going on an adventure in Paris with a hot, foreign boy.
Our narrator is eighteen year old Allyson who is on a trip through Europe with a Teen Tours group. While sitting on the train with her best friend, she meets Dutch boy, Willem. He offers to take her to Paris for just one day, and she says yes.
Allyson was a relatable character. She seldom takes risks and lacks confidence in herself. Her mother controls every aspect of her life, and Allyson is intent on meeting her expectations, despite being unhappy.
I loved watching Allyson grow and really gain confidence in herself throughout this book. This book is ultimately about Allyson coming into herself and learning to take risks, with the help of Willem. If you're looking for romance and adventure you won't be disappointed!
"Or maybe it's not a miracle. Maybe this is just life. When you open yourself up to it. When you put yourself in the path of it. When you say yes."
