Review: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two by J.K. Rowling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG THAT WAS A CRAZY READ. Overall, I highly enjoyed it. At first I had some trouble adjusting to it because I've never read a script before, but It wasn't too hard. Most of the time I wasn't even picturing it on a stage anyway. Even though I would have rather have had this in book form, I thought Cursed Child was a great read.
There were a couple points were I thought Harry was out of character or thought to myself "this wouldn't happen like this", however, we did leave these characters when they were kids. We're missing a lot of years of growth that we never saw.
For the most part I liked the new characters a lot. Scorpius was by far my favorite character. HES SO ADORABLE. I can't even. Albus wasn't my favorite. He was a little too moody for me and he was irritating at times. However, he did grow on me throughout the story. I loved Albus and Scorpius' relationship.
I'm not going to say too much about the plot because I went into this not knowing much and I thinks it's more fun that way. BUT ITS A WILD RIDE THIS BOOK. Picture every Harry Potter fanfic you've written into a script. It was nuts. There was a lot of screaming "what is going on?!" in the middle of the night. And ALOT of feels as well. One of my favorite parts was with the trolley cart lady on the Hogwarts express. I'm still laughing about it days later.
Overall, I had SO much fun reading it. Just go into this book with an open mind and have fun! Highly recommend you read this if you love Harry Potter!!

"Those that we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch. Paint...and memory...and love."
